Villa La Romantica

The mansion was built in 1630 to serve as a convent. The main building, mostly reserved for guests, has high, frescoed ceilings. The basement, with its brick arches, was used until 1960 for producing the wine for the entire village.

Three rooms and three suites located in either the main building or in the outbuilding are available to guests. These are located within a large 3,000 square meter park.

Grognardo and the Piedmontese Cuisine

The tiny village of Grognardo, located in the middle of the Piedmontese Alto Monferrato, not far from the ancient Roman town of Acqui Terme, offers nature, peace, and the refreshing and ferruginous “sour water” of the San Felice spring. The hills beckon you to take a nice walk, jog, or ride your bicycle.

We also recommend the typical, world-renowned wines and the gastronomic specialties from the area. Among the wines, we need only mention a few: Brachetto, Barolo, Moscato, Barbera, and Dolcetto. The cuisine, on the other hand, mixes strong and delicate flavors, and offers several local salamis such as filetto baciato and bacon, peppers, mushrooms, cheeses, chestnuts, game sauces, and the famous bagna cauda, a convivial soup consisting of garlic and anchovies.
